Job Title: Manager, Database & Member Services
Reports to: Vice President, Finance & Operations
Job Description and Key Functions
The individual in this role is responsible for all aspects of the organization’s database systems and will interact regularly with the organization’s members, from facilitating initial recruitment to their choice of engagement while a member. This team member must possess a high level of comfort and skill in communicating with CEOs and community leadership executives in addition to their proficiency with all aspects of database management and utilization.
Relationship building, excellent interpersonal skills, professionalism, and a genuine desire to meet the needs of members and co-workers are key components of this position. The position plays a central role in supporting big-picture organizational goals via execution of data-driven member services.
Essential Duties Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain membership databases, event registration and participation systems, while supporting and tracking member communication activity and assisting members with utilization of these platforms as necessary
- Ensure the accuracy of data across platforms and regular dashboard reporting of same
- Serve as the primary staff contact for member engagement support, and working with programmatic and leadership team members, ensures an exceptional member experience
- Implement and manage event scheduling and attendance tracking (monthly meetings of full membership, signature events, Standing Committee and Task Force meetings)
- Create and manage periodic surveys of the membership to assess and track member experience and engagement
- Manage implement weekly membership/organization activity updates while ensuring consistency and alignment with GPL priorities
- Work with President & CEO and Membership Committee Chair to prepare materials related to the identification, recruitment, and on-boarding of new GPL members, including new member orientation
- Work with Vice President, Finance & Operations on processes surrounding annual membership renewal and dues payment
- Other responsibilities and duties as necessary
Knowledge and Qualifications
The ideal employee must be detail-oriented, organized, and possess excellent database management knowledge and ability, written and verbal communication skills, and a problem-solving mindset. Dependability and commitment are essential to ensuring that interactions between the organization and its members are positive, productive and commensurate with their professional standing.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- 3-5 years of professional work experience in an administrative role utilizing database systems; ideally, with 1-2 years of experience working within a trade association or social impact membership organization as a professional and/or member
- Personal or professional experience and familiarity of AMS products is necessary; previous knowledge or use of BoardEffect, Momentive, or Personify highly valuable
- Knowledge and experience creating dashboards, reporting tools or database query functions
- Basic familiarity utilizing email marketing platforms, digital communications, or light graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Mailchimp)
- Previous use of WordPress and/or a general understanding of website maintenance and updates
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent computer skills and a willingness and ability to learn new platforms
- Meeting and event planning experience

Compensation and Benefits
GPL offers a market-based competitive compensation and benefits package, commensurate with experience required for high performance of duties. A hybrid remote/three days in-office work environment is currently being utilized for all organizational and employee activity.
